Sunroof Or Not?

I just picked up my 4R!

THE SUNROOF KICKS ASS!

My 4R just went from a "10" to an "11"!

The reason I bought this 4Runner (without the sunroof) was because it was such a sweet deal (2004 SE with only 7,050 miles)...but no sunroof. Dealer wanted to make the deal so he threw in the sunroof. Install was done by "Personal Auto Options" in Glenside, PA.

Aftermarket sunroofs really have come a long way...

Look great. The headliner looks flawless. They did a great job with the install. The last big test will be mother nature. Hopefully you will have no problems with the rust in six to twelve months. Good luck.

out of curiosity what do the buttons do on the control box?

Good eye, Alex. Yes the whole headliner is new (as part of the Sunroof install). I can tell the subtle difference, but it looks sweet.

As far as the controls, I think they are cool. The "1" and "2" buttons are programmable. Just put the sunroof in any position, then press and hold the "1" or "2" to lock it in memory. (like radio preset button).

For me, "1" is full open, and "2" is tilt-vent open.

The "C" button closes the hatch.
The /\ & \/ buttons allow you to open incrementally.

Also, the roof auto-closes when you turn off the car to prevent "rain-outs."

All buttons are "auto" open, like 4R driver window (press & release).

Thanks very much for posting the pics - very impressive. It looks like you have not lost as much headroom as you do with the stock sunroof - is that right?

Webasto is the best.

I know someone who gets a new vehicle every few years. He's had a Webasto sunroof installed in all but his lastest vehicle. His current vehicle came with a factory sunroof.

He much prefers the Webasto, mostly because it has more features (especially auto-close). It took him about a year to make it a habit of closing his new roof. (A few rains helped to remind him!)
