Sunroof

Need help fast. I was just showing my girlfriend my new (used) Toyota 4 Runner when I retracted the sunroof. When I tried to close it, it would only close half way! It looks like it might rain tonight so a quick reply will really help. By the way, the dealer has already closed for the night.

One of your fuses could've blown. Check your manual and replace the appropiate one

Just a FYI, the sunroof on these trucks has a safety feature where the sunroof only closes a little over halfway then stops. You then have to release the button and press it again to close it all the way. This may not be what happened to you, but it tends to confuse a lot of people.

umm a 2007 would be a 4th gen not a 3rd gen Runner.


I never got those tools with my 3rd gen (99) and did not think that was possible. I did have tools with my 2nd gen (95) to mechanically close the roof if that happened .

Are there tools for 3rd gen owners to mechanically close the roof?

My 99 didn't come with any tools neither.

I'm sure some people out there are not as smart as you or me and had some part of their body sticking out the sunroof while closing it at the same time and closed the sunroof on themselves.
