Super rare spotted on ebay

There's something about those second gens sitting on those 8-spoke alloys with the black center caps that is so perfect. I wish I had the space for that. A clean 5-speed with OEM leather is rare. 1994 was the first year for factory installed leather.

Wow Nice.

Seller must have a different interpretation of 100% Rust free frame than i do though. No rust through might be more appropriate.

It made the front page of BringATrailer. I really want that 4Runner. I'd park it next to my clean 3rd gen in my garage and spend all day detailing them. Then I would spend all of the next day driving them around and taking pics for Instagram. I never noticed how nice the headliners were on those.

Made in Japan

From a factory in Japan too! Such a great truck. I'm going with...around $8500-9k as a sale price. Anyone else want to throw number in?

Maybe 9k? As long as that new owner keeps it stock and in a garage for me to buy in 5 years, I'm totally fine. It would kill me if someone turned it into their hacked up ass trail truck with flat black spray paint and bedliner on everything. :toilet:

I agree, needs bedliner!

Maybe I could come by and help you roll on some Herculiner(the crap that dries looking like roofing tar) onto the sides of that pretty HDJ81? :biggrin1: A genius in my town did that to his Durango, and I must say, I am INSPIRED.

Sure it's in good condition, but it's still a 3.0 second gen. If it were given to me for free I'd sell it without driving it a mile.

They are slow, there is no denying that. All these early 90's SUVs were pigs. Maybe except the 4.0 Cherokee; those weighed less than average too. Appreciate that stock second gen beauty. This is honestly the generation of 4Runner that made the name what it is. The first gen is cool, but if they didn't move over to the 4-door layout, then the name wouldn't have gone much further. The removable top is fantastic in the summer, but I wouldn't be in a 3rd gen if it had that layout. Nor would all of the average SUV buyers of the 90's IMO.

I'm gonna make a thread about this soon, but we just did my bud's 3rd gen in Monstaliner this past weekend. Turned out amazing.

That's different. That is a quality job. I'm talking more along the lines of the cheap crap that gets rolled on and looks inconsistent. Mix the rough, flat black finish with some dirt and UV exposure, and you are left with something about as appealing as Hillary.

Back to the second gen. I love it.
