no not really. its a first gen SC... its not a bad price, but not a good deal imo

Oh wow, coming from the M3 world a first gen sc would still go for 5k +... I feel like 600 isn't bad but good to have some input

It's gonna need to be rebuilt more than likely... If your up for it it could be an OK deal. Again it's more than likely not gonna be a bolt on $600 supercharger... It's gonna take probably $100 in parts(that's if you buy them yourself) and then all the work going into rebuilding it. My guess is that it's gonna cost another $4-600 if its taken to a shop to have rebuilt... Then your right at the average cost of one. I know I wouldn't just slap any old SC on my runner not knowing it's condition or service history. That's just asking for a disaster

What's the actual difference between the first and second gen 3.4 SC? I always wondered, I figured this could be a great deal for someone who wants to rebuild it themselves, I usually see the 2nd gen ones for 1200$ and most of those are the same way, you don't know the history on them and most likely they'll need rebuilt.

I was talking with the guy... sounds like someone grabbed it for $900 plus shipping costs. I was really hoping to snag that thing but I'm not ready to pay $1000 for a 1st gen with a 100K on it that needs a few things. Where do you guys think the best place to keep a look out for these things is? One of those 'search all of craigslist' sites? Ebay? I talked with the guys at LCE and they said they sold the last new one they know exists a few weeks ago. Potential to restart production if LCE can get the rights to produce them, but they said that that would be a ways off if it does happen. I also looked into URD and it looks like all they have is Rotex universal superchargers...
Am I wrong in thinking $1000 was too much for that used first gen shipped?

Installing this SC on [MENTION=82154]GSPRunner[/MENTION]'s 4Runner tomorrow. Sort of a, "see how it sounds/runs" sort of deal. If it sounds good, it'll stay.
Other than being a little dirty it appears to be in good shape. Came with nearly EVERYTHING, including a few TRD Supercharged badges/decals, all of the throttle cable brackets, bolts, template for timing cover, etc. All that I could see missing was the TRD TB Gasket. Had a factory gasket.
Just spinning the pulley it sounds good and has very obvious suction on the intake side. No weird noises that I could hear.
We'll see how it goes.

Sweet, sounds like it was a good deal after all. Oddly enough there's another guy in Kent that has some 3RZ turbo parts, that's the guy I need to talk to for some boost lol.
