Supercharger alert!!! Kent, wa!

I was talking with the guy... sounds like someone grabbed it for $900 plus shipping costs. I was really hoping to snag that thing but I'm not ready to pay $1000 for a 1st gen with a 100K on it that needs a few things. Where do you guys think the best place to keep a look out for these things is? One of those 'search all of craigslist' sites? Ebay? I talked with the guys at LCE and they said they sold the last new one they know exists a few weeks ago. Potential to restart production if LCE can get the rights to produce them, but they said that that would be a ways off if it does happen. I also looked into URD and it looks like all they have is Rotex universal superchargers...

Am I wrong in thinking $1000 was too much for that used first gen shipped?

In my opinion, yes. Even if you had to rebuild it it would only be $500 tops from a performance shop. Then you'd have basically a brand new supercharger for $1500 or more like $1100 if you did it yourself. They sell for $3000 new, if you can even find them anymore since they were discontinued. You'd still have to get a belt and dynamic tensioner and sorts, but that's only around $200 or so.

P.S. I bought my 4Runner with the supercharger on it and hadn't been rebuilt ever after 100k miles on the vehivle. There's really nothing to go wrong with the supercharger as long as it has oil and the bearings are decent.
