Superchargers: Lets check prices.....

So I am in the market for a supercharger, however I am not willing to pay over $2500+ for it.
I understand the whole supply and demand issue with the whole thing, but being an enthusiasts I would think we would try and be reasonable with each other.

So my question is, What would be a reasonable price for a used SC kit? (in decent condition)

I've seen some people find them for sub 1500. I'd buy one just for the fun of beating up on Civics and shit near me. Not like I'm gonna be doing a lot of offroading with a 2WD.

You wont beat up on the civics around my area! Well maybe some high school kids with stanced out crap cars but not real enthusiast civic owners that actually build for power.

To the OP at this point if I was selling a used SC kit I would not go under $1500 for it.

Where have you seen them for sub $1500?? SupaSupra

Its a hunt, its anywhere you sell used items. Like this forum, local classified, craigslist and ebay. Thats pretty much your only options.

Thanks for the heads up JayRolla. I don't think I will find anyone on here selling it for sub $1500 in decent condition. So I will look into ebay, CL, and other sources.

I picked up mine(used 1st gen charger) for $700 a couple months ago. It had 90k miles on it the seller said. I threw it on because it didn't seem to make much noise when I spun the pulley and had good suction but I'll probably rebuild it this winter. Now that Toyota stopped manufacturing them, expect prices on used SC's to go up up up.

Yeah for sure, like said above me they can be found cheaper. Usually anything under $1500 will have some missing parts and are hard to source. If you buy make sure to get one with everything complete as much as possible.

Trd discontinued s/c

They discontinued the TRD supercharger. I know LCE is sold out of them. That's the only place i knew to get one new. Maybe they'll pick up the slack.

This is why I will be going turbo, rewelded CX racing turbo manifold, intercooler, some piping, holset turbo, fuel pump, AFPR, larger injectors, AEM F/IC-6 for tuning and a wbo2.

Its going to run me near $2200-$2500 for the basic parts but IMO will be the best option. This will run 300-500hp if need be and safe to run e85 which makes tuning so much easier and safer on the motor.

After this im sure I will break gears, trans and cv shafts though.

Take the headers & exhaust out of it too!

I would, if only I had the money :violin: My CBI bumper, lights, Level 8 wheels, and winch has sucked the money tree dry and it'll stay that way for a while. I also prefer to stay debt free haha.

I looked for a used S/C for over a year (2.7) & had no luck. In June I bit the bullet & ordered a new High Boost TRD S/C from LCE because of the discontinuation. Now prices have gone through the roof. That's what credit cards are for.

Yes, if I am going to be spending over $2000 for forced induction, I can piece together a 350hp kit for $3K tuned.

I don't need another project, I don't need another project.

Honestly I just would need the headers and exhaust... I already have the SC complete in a box waiting rebuild and free time.

You don't need that silly SC just buy this runner and give me your SC as a thanks for showing it to you. :bounce:

I hear ya! I've spent more time working on my truck than driving it this summer. But it will be ready for the winter weather. Tires, wheels, lift, front bumper & S/C in the next week or 2.
