Same here haha especially considering I sunk mine and couldn't drive it for 3 weeks. I hope we get some snow here so I can put all my goodies to work! But anyways... I want a SC because I'd rather have power gains to pad my weigh gains than just gearing. I wish I could buy this runner just for the SC. It's a good price if the frame is in good condition. I'll be surprised if it sits for long.

The TRD supercharger is CARB approved, which is why it passed. An aftermarket turbo that one pieces together would have to be approved by a CARB referee before it can pass a visual inspection (unless you have a very friendly smog technician).
 
I would say purchase now for anything under $2,000 or even $2,500. And buy an extra one or two to keep in the shed as an investment.

The TRD supercharger for the 1fz-fe (90's land cruiser) was discontinued several years ago and they're now going for $5,000+ IF you can find one.

Yep, TRD s/c(s) are CARB approved.

BTW, just saw a listing for a 2nd s/c w/ 7th urd and etc on eBay. It only has 1bid for $3K for now. If you decide to re-sell the 7th URD kit, then that's like $2,500.

Do you guys know where I can find a list of everything that is need for the supercharger to bolt on? I am looking at picking up a used one and want to make sure the guy gets everything off I need.

Lol, I live in Orlando. Nothing but broken and beat Civics here. Already busted some kid in a Teggy. I just purposely mess with imports with huge exhausts now, if I lose who cares, if they lose its funny. I'll probably run the 4R down the local drag strip soon for shits n giggles.

I do wish I had waited and got a 4WD though.

Kind of how it was when I was 16. 15 years later and now if you hit the street scene late night in Denver or Springs streets you can find 400-800whp FWD civics. Just eating up folks. Slicks and all. Yes most will only roll race, but same with high HP RWD cars. They only roll race. But im out of that scene, grew up and realized how dangerous it was and got me a 4runner!!!

I love that I can offroad and not worry about killing myself, others or getting put in jail. Well I guess you can die, but seems less likely at 5mph crawling.

Thing is you buy it, Run it, and in a few years sell it. You will get your $2500 back and maybe even a little profit. :banana:

Yeah, I know of a few fast Hondas and such. Now I just want a good looking car that has good power I can cruise in. But I've got the itch to overland now, and I can't decide between getting a Land Cruiser, or getting another 4Runner.

God, ain't that the truth. Those Civic guys are masters of the art these days. What I wouldn't give for a turbo'd 99 (with double a-arm front IFS) with a B16A motor. Such amazing little, practical cars.

Yeah but its so old school now. This is what the kids around here are doing.

J32a v6 swaps, Type S motor. So much power and reliable as shit. I want one.
