Supercharging a 4 cylinder?

Hey guys I have been searching around on the forum, along with on the internet on this topic but I can't find a straight answer for this. I have a 97 SR5 (4x4) 4 cylinder, it's a great car/engine but I am looking for something with more power, I have a friend willing to sell me a v6 out of his 97 but I have no clue when it comes to swapping engines or the price to get it done at a shop, so the question is do/did they make super chargers for the 4 cylinder model that can be purchased today or would I be better off leaving it alone and possibly swapping out to a new engine?

LCengineering sells them.

KO racing also sells a turbo kit (designed for a tacoma, but the engine / everything is the same) which is a bit cheaper than the S/C and gives more power. A bit more complicated install tho as you have to drop the oil pan. Quite a few people on customtacos run the set-up and are happy with it (and it's easily upgradeable in the future for more power)

Buying from lce is too much. At least with the superchargers for the 3.4, theres enough of them so you can buy them used. Strictly my opinion, i'd only supercharge my 3rz if i could get my hands on an m90 and those are VERY rare being that they were some of the first ones made.

that's for 4 port 3rz's. I think, emphasis on the word think, 4 port 3rzs come on tacomas 2001 and up. 4 cylinder 4 runners were made up to 2000 and those were 8 port 3rz's.
