Superflex HD Spring Issue??

So I installed the Toytec 3" lift a few weeks ago and went with the Superflex HD springs. I didn't take pre-measurements but the new springs shot my ass end way up - like way up. So I emailed Toytec and Kevin told me stock '07 runners measure (from center of hub to bottom of fender) about 19" in the front and 21" in the rear. So theoretically I should be at 22" up front and 23 1/2 - 24" in the rear after the lift. I just took measurements and I'm good up front (22 1/2 and 22 1/4). But in the rear, I'm at 25 and 25 1/4! I have a couple hundred pounds of gardening rocks in the back to bring it down a little but that only brings it down to 24 1/2 and 24 3/4.

I guess I'm looking to see if anyone else has had this issue... I got about 4" of lift in the rear which is a good 1"+ above what I was expecting.

And also, I have 5100s in the rear which are only designed for a certain amount of lift (I thought only for 3"). So what issues could I run into? Any help would be awesome.

I had the same problem. Without lots of rear weight, you should get the NON HD springs. I'll look for my old thread. Pictures are gone but you can read the results.

I interpreted the springs the same way you did - 2.5" lift and able to accommodate the extra weight. Were you able to sell yours?

Sorry for the bad news. I was able to sell my springs though. I cross posted them on the FJ forum and expedition portal and TTORA as I recall. An FJ owner picked them up. I think the mistake cost me around $80 when it was all said and done.

As mentioned the HD were created as a heavy duty option for those with steel rear bumpers or carrying extra gear (ie expedition use). Once the weight is added you will still be able to maintain 2-2.5" of lift. This unweighted height is also outside the true operating range of the rear 5100's spec'd for the 4Runner.

[MENTION=86678]ebg18t[/MENTION] and [MENTION=97032]hearno[/MENTION] thanks for the help. I was afraid I was out of the operating range of the shocks. New springs are already ordered... I'll swap them out as soon as I can and then roll the dice with selling the HDs.
