Cat theft=new cat and a custom diamond plate cat "skid plate"

You need to cut holes into that "skid plate". The cat can get up to 1300 degree's, and resonating that against the floor is not a good idea. It can catch your truck on fire and insurance wont cover it due to the skid plate. Also it'll rust out. Looks good though!

lol if your cat gets up to 1300 degrees you need a new cat. also the area is not boxed in, so the heat will never reach the floor. also why would it rust if its all painted, it'll take forever to rust thought .25 diamond plate.

Um, no? normal temp of a cat is 300-800 degree's, the safe limit being just under 1400. Im not saying its going to rust right through in 10 minutes, but regardless of what paint that was used the heat from the cat will boil the paint off and it'll look like **** in no time. Its just friendly advice.

thanks for all the advice. i was actually planning on making holes in it and painting it once again with high temp paint since i have to take it off to put on my new mini header.
although i have been checking on the plate after drives and it does not get hot at all. mabey a LITTLE warm but thats it. and in case you dident know the cat does not actually hit the plate it hovers above it.
and yeah i agree with t4r4life about it not getting destroyed. that plate was sitting outside for like 10 years and only had minimal edge rust which we grinded off before installing

this skid is actually pretty cool, this would sell pretty good at NorCal, since our cats are getting stolen like crazy. Damn tweakers!!!!

@supra.. How hard were the cluster lights to replace? And how many did it take? I just bought my '99 ltd today, and half the cluster is dark. Sooo since I gotta replace em, might as well upgrade!! You got a sweet ride!!

The main cluster (what i have pictured) takes 3 t10 bulbs. If you go with LED's i recommend going with this style so you wont get hotspots 10 PCS T10 9 LED SMD 5050 194 168 W5W White Car Side Tail Light Bulb Lamp | eBay
As far as installing it is very easy, the trim around the streering wheel column comes off along with the other trim around the cluster. i think theres about 10 small phillips screws and 4 10mm bolts holding down the trim thing by your knees where the hood release is at. if theres not a writeup on here i can probobly make one for you if you need it.

Finally get down to the "Honda sound" under the hood i've always had but was ignorant to what it was.

Replaced with 01 and up 3RZ Tacoma mini header (manifold) FACTORY WELDS!
Replaced all the gaskets also.

Yota's for days!

Yes they are! tell me about it... everyone that has got them from the dealer have these horrible welds.
i cleaned them up a little before paint though

its just unacceptable when a big brand like that sell stuff like this, all the welds look weak, they look cold, maybe the robotic welder caught a virus lol

Hey Supra, what were the signs you noticed that the manifold was cracked? I have a slight tick, during acceleration, but not noticeable at a constant speed or idle. I haven't seen many people on here reporting cracked manifolds with the I4 or the V6 and just wondering what really tipped you off? Or could you actually see it from just sticking your head inside the engine bay?
