Suprareal's Build Thread

Hey Supra, what were the signs you noticed that the manifold was cracked? I have a slight tick, during acceleration, but not noticeable at a constant speed or idle.

Yeah mine was noticeable only when accelerated when the engine is working the hardest. at idle and past 3rd gear it dident sound bad for me.
Basically the tick sound and obvious air leak sound (puht puht puht puht) going faster with acceleration.

I had to take off the heat shield to see the crack but it was right there on top.
And my 2 round gaskets that go to the down pipe off the manifold were extremely shot so part of the noise had to be coming from there also.

I've changed my oil before of course but i switched over to synthetic this time. 5w-30 mobile 1. Also changed my rear diff to mobile 1 synthetic.

I sea foamed before the oil change and cleaned the throttle body and replaced the gasket after the change.

My Spark plug wires were getting worn in multiple place's and 2 of them would not snap flush on the valve cover like it should so i went ahead and got the NGK wires. They snapped in perfect :trophy:

Couple of months went by without spending any money on the truck so i just had to buy something, i put in about 7 hours today including removing all seats and scrubbing carpet!
Got a set of JL components with tweeters. Thanks to cj80cruiser for the tweeter housings that i did not have.

I thought id try out this "frost king" from lowes since it was only 20$
Shop Frost King Foam Duct Insulation at Lowes.com
Here i am half way through one door.

I had my amp in the jack and tools compartment but moved it under the seat for a much cleaner look.
I also redid the wiring and went with Monster audio RCA and sub cables.
The quality of these monster cables are amazing.

Nice super clean mods! Are those tweeter housings stock ones that you modified or are they made for the new tweets?

And the '66 is killer.

Man your rig is a beauty! Are you using the lowes foam stuff as an insulator/sound deadaner? If so how is it preforming?

Looking good man! Grandpa's mustang is pretty sweet too! :)
Thanks!

thanks man! and yeah i saw it while at lowes and said i might as well try it while im adding speakers. I only did my 2 front doors though, i can tell my doors shut a little quieter but honestly i put the new speakers and insulation in at the same time so i dident have a chance to hear the speakers alone in the car. I want to say it works because it should at least a little but im not sure

I was iffy about putting decals on the body but i felt like i needed something red towards the back to flow with my red calipers and since painting my drums are way out of the question i settled with the decals.
Being 2wd i went with the "sport" instead of "offroad".

Added SR5 skinny flares and roof rack!

I was having a HORRIBLE/ stressful week when one thing finally went good... I was lucky to be online when "giguchan " ( VERY nice guy) posted his SR5 skinny flares for free. I paid shipping and gave him extra $ and as soon as they came in i painted them with SEM trim black paint.

I trimmed the bottom of the rear flares to match up to the body instead of the running boards.
(more pictures later on)

Got around to installing a B&M super-cooler auto transmission cooler.
Im really happy with the clean install, NOT touching radiator and no showing brackets. And i ended up bypassing the radiator until i replace with a new koyo radiator and will run the tranny cooler in line with the radiator.
Also made a new bracket for the horn on the cooler side and refreshed the horns with new paint.
(sorry for the bad pictures it was HOT!)
