Surface blemishes

I just used Mother's clay and some cleaner wax on my truck (99 Limited, Imperial Jade Mica). Surface feels great but has a few "rough spots" on the hood like some kind of water spots or bird droppings(?) have etched into paint.

What's next? Polishing compound? I think need to focus on these small areas, not entire truck. I would like to try something I can get locally instead of having to order it. It is supposed to be 83 degrees here in the 'Ham tomorrow. Great day to finish what I started.

I know you would rather buy it locally, but to get what you really need, you will probably have to order it. I would suggest either Griots Garage or Zaino's. Personally, I use all Griots Garage stuff. Since you are in Birmingham I migt be able to help you out. I am currently out of town, but will be in town all week.

I don't mind ordering the polishes and waxes from these top quality companies, but I was hoping to get something locally that would let me fix the problem with the surface contamination.

What do I need to use?

I would say use the Mother's 3 step liquids. The only problem is that it is hard to find all three steps at one place. for some reason some stores will have one or two, but it was rare to find all three at one. I know that auto supply store in Homewood, right next to the Little Professor has a good supple of Mother's. I think Meguiar's makes some some good stuff, but I have never used it.

I went to the Zaino web site and have decided to wait until I can get some of their stuff. Everyone speaks highly of these products so I can wait a bit longer for the good stuff.

Thanks for the help, though.
