Surprising my son with a 04 sport, offset question

I had daystar 2 1/2 x 2 lift installed and would like to have 285/70/17 cooper ST put on it before I give it to him. Would an aftermarket wheel with a different offset prevent the rubbing of the uca during normal road use? If so what offset would I look for. Thanks Dr.Shepherd

I would go to the wheel/tire dealer and have them try the different combinations. It gets tricky because you may have one wheel that has less offset but is wider and that will negate any advantages of the offset. Hope this helps...

look for a wheel that has around 4.5" backspacing. In other words a 17x8 with offset between 0 and -25mm

If there is rubbing a set of wheel spacers can be added. There are different sizes ranging from 0.25" - 1.25"
