Suspension difference?

Apart from the TE with KDSS there are very little difference in terms of offroad capability suspension wise between the 4th and 5th Gen. Clearance (if the stock tire size difference is taken into account), travel & flex are very similar between the 2.
The 5th Gen suspensions I have replaced did seem to have slightly beefier shocks than the 4th Gen suspensions. But then again the 5th Gen is heavier as well. Other aspects were very similar.
Both 4th and 5th Gen could be had with XREAS as well.
Any specific reason you are asking?

You have a 20" wheel and very little sidewall, which makes him correct.
Given same wheel and tire size, any difference? :bash:

If you take tire/wheel difference out of the equation (which is a big difference in terms of airing down and traction off road), then the LTD 5th Gen offers less approach and departure angle due to the bumpers fitted. Some members swapped LTD bumpers for TE bumpers (which would take that difference out).
As a base platform there is very little difference though, but when you add wheel/tire and approach/departure into the equation things change a bit.
In reality this seems to be more a question of just BSing around the water cooler and someone trying to point out shortcomings on your vehicle due to envy. Just smile and move on, no need to waste your time.

What he said. If your friend has a Sport Edition with a V8, he has more torque to begin with, he has a 30 degree approach angle and a 24 degree departure angle, versus yours @ 25 and 24, respectively. The only thing you have over him is a measly half an inch of ground clearance.
