Suspension Help...

This may be a subject that is frequently talked about, but I need help...

I'm new to the 4runner game and I need help deciding on what kind of suspension set up I should get...

So far, I've decided to get an OME setup...

I have a 1996 4runner SR5 4x4 V6 manual...

I need something that will make my currently rough ride into a smooth ride on the pavement... that will be smooth when going over bumps... raise it a few inches... and also handle minor to mild offroading... I live in San Diego, but go to the snow frequently...

what OME set up should I go with? What am I looking at spending? Easy install?

Thanks for the help guys! This site has helped me a lot so far...

i just purchased an ome lift for the rear of my 4runner and im gonna put it on tonight

from what i have seen for the rear most people go with the 891 springs and the confort shocks

i paid 350$ for the rear set

in the front i went with sway away coilovers and they are amazing

the off road ride is great

they cot about 720$ A set so maybe the ome front srtuts will be better if you want to pay less good luck

thanks!

thanks for the suggestion...

I'm trying to find the best prices for a full OME suspension set up...

So far, I was able to find a full set up (includes F&R Shocks and F&R springs) with 2.5" lift for $649...

but now I either have to figure out how to install it, or find a cheap place to do the install for me...

On a difficulty scale (1-10), I wonder how difficult it is to do the install myself?... I use to work on my Audi all the time, but I've never worked on doing lifts on a 4runner...

well the front is about a 5 and its really not hard at all. and i had to do the sway away coils. there are a few helpfull hints that will save you a lot of heartache. with the sway aways you dont need a spring compresser because the design is different. if you choose the ome you will have to rent a srtut compresser

and the rear is reall about a 3 i did it last night and it took about an hour and a hlaf at the most

the ome rear rides great too!

and 649 seems like a good price

its really not hard

the ome 891 springs for the rear and comfort rear shocks

if you need help once you get the parts just contact me and i will give you some helpful websites that made it easy and clear
