Suspension Question 2009 Limited

Hello All,

I have read through the gen4 suspension FAQ, and it looks like a 3/2 lift will do what I want: 275/65r18 BFG KOs or Goodyear MTRs

I have searched a bit and haven't found much on 18s, which I would like to keep.

I always plan to save for a full coil lift and UCAs, then I get impatient and just get a spacer kit and tires.

This is the nicest ride I have owned, plan to keep the stock mudflaps, and would like to retain stock ride quality, aftermarket bumpers in time, but not for a while.

So, convince me to save for OME & UCAs, or convince me that 3/2 spacer kit would be fine for now.

I originally wanted spacers since this is the cheapest way to get the lift. Than I said to myself, I do a lot of camping and overlanding trips. This year alone went on 5 or 6 overlanding trips. One was a 2000 mile round trip to canyonlands and moab in Utah.

In the end I got an Icon kit and I couldnt be happier.

I was impatient and charged close to $2k on my credit card (paid it off quickly). I couldn't wait because the 4runner looks so horrible with the stock lift and the nose of it pointed down.

You have to ask yourself. Are you mainly doing it for looks? Will you off road it a lot? This will determine what is best for you..

2009 Runner

Hello, thanks for the advice. I don't frequently get into crazy off-road trips, but it does happen 4-5 times a year. I have mild off-road mesa/shooting/adventure type trips almost every weekend.

Do you all think ICONs beat OME?
