Suspension question

Alright everyone I have a 98 2wd 4runner base and I'm tired of being lifted and I want to go the other way. I. Need to know what I could use to lower my 4runner suspension wise, I don't want to do air bags and I don't want to be on the ground. I can't find any lowering kits for a 4runner anywhere. Is there any other vehicle suspensions I could swap in to lower it? Or will I have to basically fabricate everything?

Are you trying to go lower then stock?
 
Go with stock suspension for a 2002. Thats the lowest sitting suspension for a 3rd gen. Heres a random shot of a 2002. I cant imagine you would want to go any lower than that.

You will probably be ridding on the bump stops on all 4 corners. This chassis was designed for ground clearance and not really to be lowered. So without doing a lot of work it wont be done easily.

It's a lot of work, but I know the few that I have seen that are lowered or bagged have been swapped over to a 2wd truck chassis.
 
Post pics if you accomplish this. I'm curious to see how it looks. Just lifted mine and I love the lift, can't imagine lowered T4R, sounds bumpy.

A car, what you're looking for is a car. Several companies out there that make good cars. Toyota, VW, Honda, etc ... I believe these companies produce cars, maybe check them out?

Well back in my day, when we walked to school in the snow uphill both ways, we'd drive down to the local "moflero"(muffler shop) and have him take the torch to the springs. You know, just heat the lower coils till they collapse a little and BOOM, you got a lowrider!

I think if you are looking for a mix of traction and 4wd/awd capability but comfort than perhaps a Subaru might be more what you are looking for. I have no experience with them mechanically but they are common up in the Sierras since they do great in snow and are much smaller than a SUV.

Like others have said, a 4Runner cannot be safely lowered without a ton of work. And you would never be able to sell it since 4Runners are wanted because of their ground clearance.
 
I think Burtman Industries sells lowering springs.

Or you could torch the springs until they get hot enough to drop.

Or you could cut them.

Or you could buy a rav4
