Swap a 4th Gen steering wheel for a 5th Gen?

Anyone ever done this? I'm interested in installing the newer wheel, really like the way it feels and drives.

U have a pic of the steering wheel you want to swap! I'm pretty interested in this. Like making the steering wheel controls work and everything. I wonder if it just mounts up.

I don't have a pic, but it's from an 06 SE, with the audio controls. I just was wondering if anyone knew anything about this mod.

I agree, I like the new wheel better too. I would like to swap mine out if possible and not too much $$$. But I suspect with the airbag in there it would be big bucks.

Yeah, I would be taking a wheel from a 5th to install in my 4th. Sorry if that was unclear in my second post.

You might be able to do it, I believe the steering shaft is the same diameter, spline, ect ect . The issue will be in the wiring as I do not remember if the connectors are the same. Also the wheel might not match up with the column coverings well, its hard to tell without actually having one apart to look at.

hmmm, i think my 4th Gen drives better than my 5th Gen....never thought of just swapping steering wheels....
