Swapping 4.0 - Advice needed for engine hoist mounting

Hey everyone,

As the title states, I'll be pulling my engine soon to swap in a new (used) engine into my 4Runner due to a bad head gasket.

My main question is what are the safest points to use when attaching the engine to the hoist? Any advice or recommendations would be greatly appreciated. I want to make sure I lift the motor by the proper spots.

Thanks in advance!

The FSM way to remove the engine is by attaching two lifting brackets on the side of the heads. The exact location is not very clear, but you should be able to figure it out.

The picture makes it look like you have to take the exhaust manifolds off first. Maybe you will be able to see the attachment points once the exhaust manifold is out of the way?

If you do get it lifted out, be sure to take some pictures of where you mounted the brackets.
