Swapping hoods for a sport. How much on $ on top?

i drive by this shotty-looking mechanic shop every day on my way to school. They have a 3rd gen (silver, same as mine) with a sport hood. It's been sitting there for at least a year. I'm unsure of the year, but are there any mounting differences between years? I want to go in and offer swapping hoods with cash on top on my side. What's a reasonable offer? Assuming that hood is in great Condition. Mine has two spots near the front corners that are starting to brown but not bubble (rust).

Unbolt old hood, bolt new hood on it its place. It's that simple.

I had a similar situation... I'd start with just asking to swap hoods hoping he doesn't know what he's got... If he balks I'd ask if cash would sweeten the deal and see what he counters with.

As far as mounting... My was plug n play, '02 hood to '00 Runner.
