This is a hypothetical question more then anything else but I am curious. Is it possible to swap in a a 99 Limited and up transfer case with the lockable/floatable center differential into a 96-98 4Runner?
Nothing wrong with my transfer case but I do see 99 Limited and up transfer cases for sale occasionally. If mine goes it would be cool to put in the newer transfer case and get AWD/4WD capability on my 98. Not sure if it would drop right in and what modifications would need to be done. Obviously the center diff lock switch would have to be installed. Searching the forum this looks like it was never done so likely not that easy of a swap but thought I would ask.
