I'm helping a friend fix up her trail edition, which has some weird discoloration from a full on assault of tree sap, specifically the vertical window trim plastic on the driver side door.

Part number 2. My question has anyone here done that part swap? What's involved in taking it off and putting the new one on? Any advice would be great before I just start tearing at it like a drunk monkey.
