Sway bar links torn - BOTH!

Hello Friends.... for those who have been here a while, know I have had a hell of a time with FOX 2.5's... Here we are again, I don't know exactly how but I know it's recent and I have had the suspension for about 30K .. I do hear a noise (not a clunk) but a squeak when going over slow bumps or dips. I'm thinking the excessive play is what caused it.. who the heck knows, unless a camera is attached for a while..

Anyway, any idea how that could have materialized? and anyone have any luck with these all pro links - Sway Bar Links | All-Pro Off Road

And the photos of where them busted... Going to dealer first and than to aftermarket shop if no help there under warranty

I did run a search and is could not find much.. I know this happens on the fourth gens but not so much for fifth gen

I had the same thing happen to both of my links after I installed my Fox 2.5 suspension. Going over curbs or humps would produce on creaking noise. When I looked at the links I noticed a lot of grease started seeping with a bit of wiggling. Took off the sway bar and the noise was gone. Purchased new oem links and the sound went away but now I'm starting to get a slight creak again and I suspect it's from the sway. I'm thinking of just getting rid of the sway all together. I'm not positive what may be causing this as when I ran my 5100+OME coils last year I never had any sway/link issues. I'm curious to know if the sway bar relocation bracket(moving the sway forward) has anything to do with this as it does change the angle of the links.

I was messaging someone on IG today after this post and I think he hit the nail on the head (or tail in this instance)... He menitioned that in some instances, with bigger coils like 2.5 and old man EMU, you have to position the coil in a specific way.

Looking at the pictures and looking underneath, i believe the bolt of the sway bar links is hitting the outer part of the coil.. It's visible on my coils .... I'm not sure if you have visible marks on your coil [MENTION=117117]Seattle206[/MENTION]..

So maybe I will try that next.

Do you have extended ball joints? During articulation, they'll pop out near that ball joint or shear off. Due to the design of the rear end, the sway bar/end links are the limiter in the rear suspension. Ditch those, and then the shocks will be the limit to your travel.

Get extended end links or ditch your sway altogether.

[MENTION=98153]MStudt[/MENTION] sells end links, you can also buy the Skyjacker ones for a little cheaper, although the ones [MENTION=98153]MStudt[/MENTION] makes are way better.

EDIT: Never mind, thought you were talking about the rears. Looks like your front coils might be touching the links. Did the sway bar get moved or relocated?

Both of my links leaked on the top on the spindle. There isn't any contact with the coilover.

I did during initial install. Than the sway bar itself was making contact with the coils. Took it to Fox, they added a spacer on the bottom but I was still hearing noise.. Now I figured out what the noise was , from the end link bolts making contact with coils

I'm referring to the bottom link (part that connects to sway bar itself) not the spindle.

^^^ The coil looks too close to the shock body Danny. Is that scoring I see from the coils rubbing on the shock body? Might be the camera angle tho. I remember you asking me about this over a year ago. Is it both sides that are rubbing? Sorry you been dealin with it bro.

I just looked under both sides and snapped some photos. I examined the area and felt around the coils and shock body. There is not any contact between coil and shock body. The photos don't really do justice but from visually inspecting them there is no coil contact from shock body or sway bar.

I have a creaking and "click" like noise on mine.

Noticed at 34k my drivers endlink would spew grease. Im taking the sway bar off tonight.

Correct, its just the driver side.. the coils are not centered.

What complications will this cause long term? I contacted fox and they want me to send them the shocks for inspection.. I'm ready to rip them out and just put ICONS or KINGS... this has been horrendous

You have got 700lb springs, did you order those special? I have to check the length on mine I am 95% of the length, and 100% sure of the inside diameter and spring rate - 1400.300.600

Out of curiosity, Danny, what are the numbers on your springs?

FYI Eibach system is 0000.000.000 (Free Length, Inside Diameter, lb/in)

Kinda wondering what is up with that.

They originally came with 600lb coils but couldn't handle the additional weight of the armor without preloading the hell out of them. Swapped over to 700lb coils shortly after.
