Sweet new rack

A few pics of my newest edition, a Kuat NV bike rack. It works like a champ and took about 20 minutes to put together with the 2 allen wrenches provided in the box. It'll hold 2 bikes and can lift two more with an add on. The coolest part is the quill on the hitch mount that keeps it from wobbling around when you tighten it up.

Almost forgot, when you fold it up there's a bike stand for trailside repairs like in the first picture.

Looks like you can use it as a service stand too. Am I right? Seat post clamp?

Nice rack! I got this Thule rack, and I'm fairly satisfied with it. But, I like yours much better! Good find!

Hmmm, I'm going to have to look into that rack. Right now I have a Thule, and it's really not a great rack for my DH rig. I think the manner in which your rack secures the bike would be better suited for my ride.

So what happens when I drive is I constantly worry that my seatpost is going to slip out and I'm going to be dragging my bike down the highway ala Chevy Chase and the dog in Vacation. Needless to say, I could do without the worry.

KUAT makes an 2 bike extension, only problem is that its like 200 bucks

Thats a nice Mojo I was torn between the Mojo and the Nomad I ended up with the Nomad lol

Mikey, you're correct there is a seat post/top tube clamp included and it works great. It doesn't look strong but it held my ride at any angle I tried without any slippage.

4RunnerTrail, they are Industry 9 hubs and wheels. I've got them on all my bikes and will never use anything else. They engage every 3 degrees and haven't needed a truing ever, even after 4 years of hard riding by my 200lb self.

Mudcat, I was freaked out by any kind of attachment that was need to hold my rig which is why I went with a drop in type of mount that doesn't use arms to hold the bike. The last thing I want to do is drop my bike cruising down the road. Nice KHS, I rode on of those a while back an snowshoe DH park in West VA.

Hamilton, the Nomad is a sweet ride just like most everything Santa Cruz pumps out.

So far so good on the rack, I'm heading out today for a few miles in the dirt if the rain holds out.
