swi-x infrared transmitter

I installed the device over the weekend but have not found a great place to install the transmitter. It seems the hu requires the transmitter to be pointing directly at it. Hoping someone could maybe provide some feedback or pictures. Thx.

My installer drilled a small hole in the front of my console (just under the armrest) and mounted it there. Can't see it unless you look for it and it is in direct line of sight of the stereo. Sorry, no pics.

Does anyone have any pictures of their install location of the transmitter? I will be installing this unit next weekend. Also, any tips would be helpful. Thanks.

How easy is it to install the swi-x?? how many wire do you use out of the swi-x? and which wires goes where? will the light on the control light up if hook up to the swi-z?I miss my steering wheel control and the light at night!:violin:

It was awhile ago when I installed it, but it wasn't that hard. You only need to use a few wires, I think three, and you also need to add a resistor between two wires, which is included. I'm sure if you installed the head unit yourself, you'll be able to figure this out.
