Swiffers

I did a search and I found a few results but not what I was looking for. I know that iForce is strongly for them, but I was curious how many people advocated the use of or against swiffer products for cleaning the dash. My dash is incredibly dust at the moment, I made the mistake of driving down a dirt road with the windows down behind my friend in his jeep. Anyway, there is a large amount of dust build up on the dash. Has anyone ever use a swiffer in this situation. I can see them working for the occasional dust removal, but howabout the thick stuff. Should I be conserned at all about grinding the dust deeper in to the dash?

I would just use a damp microfiber towel. It works great and isn't disposable which means you can use the towel for other cleaning duties in the future.

Dry Swiffer cloths are not meant to be rubbed hard on surfaces... they're electrostatically charged so will attract dust with just a light brush. They're also made of polyethylene (a plastic) so are unlikely to damage the dash, unless you work at grinding dirt into it.

however, it sounds like you're dealing more with dirt than dust, so a swiffer won't help much (it's more designed for household dust, not the dust from Mother Earth). In which case a gentle wipe with a damp anything would be better.

Personally I use a dry microfiber cloth to clean the dash, which is also synthetic and attracts dust pretty well.
