I bought the wrench extension for the Allen key. It was only $6 at Home Depot. I mentioned it in the video and showed the extended Allen wrench setup.

I just messaged him on FB and he replied back a couple of days later. Once he replied all responses to my questions were answered quickly. I haven't decided between this or the knuckle bone but I will be buying it from this guy.

Detours Knucklebone Tire Carrier

Hey guys,

I just received an email from Mark over the Holiday weekend; he had had email issues but thinks he’s got them sorted out. My Knucklebone carrier should be completed any time; I’ll post photos when I mount it.

Test fitting mine. Going to weld a hi lift carrier onto the swingout. Should sit almost exactly how it looks in the pics. Will also have to remove my maxtrax from my ladder.

So far, the only thing that bothers me a little is the fact that the swingout arms look a little slanted (not parallel to the ground) due to the fact that they were welded at a slight angle.

Took 10 weeks for me to get it.

But why is the audio always so damn quite? Its like you are whispering. And sometimes you use captions so i think you realize its an issue.

Yeah, basically what I did was buy a hi lift mount made for a Jeep JK (something like this), stripped the paint, then welded it to the swingout arm. It does wobble a little bit because the metal the mount is made of is a little thin, but I've taken it off road a few times already and havent had any issues. I'll probably fix it down the road by welding on some kind of stabilizing bar.

Also, should note that, if you do this, the hatch barelyyyy clears the hi lift when you open it. You'll have to do a lot of measurements and testing to make sure you're putting the hi lift in the right place on the swingout arm otherwise you might not be able to open your hatch.

All of you with the Detours swing mount: are you still happy with it? I'm thinking of ordering one as an interim till I can sell a kidney and buy a proper rear bumper. This one should work just fine for now, and I'll be able to get my spare from under the truck.

My swing out just arrived...snapped a few pics before I dropped it off for powder coating. I have requested for a pin to hold the swing out in place to prevent it from moving when it’s swung open. He also added a rotopax mount behind the tire. Can’t wait to get this back from powder coat...

I ordered mine December 30th....He had some issues with supplies plus I added some last minute add-ons. This is my second hitch carrier I ordered from him, the first one took 8 weeks (Knucklebone) which was about the same estimate he gave me. He's a one man show, so I was glad I ordered it winter time when I'm not in a rush.

How long did it take for you to receive yours? I'm right around 6 weeks right now.

Odd he isn't responding. He's normally really responsive. He currently is not taking new orders. He isn't able to get accurate ETAs on supplies and didn't feel right trying to guess at ETAs for orders. He's most responsive through Facebook messenger but like others mentioned he is just a one man operation.

For reference I ordered the swingout carrier April 10th with a 8-10 week ETA. He did tell me it may get pushed back due to the pandemic. Now at 14 weeks he said he is getting close but still no specific ETA.

He has been extremely responsive to messages and has been willing to issue a full refund if I wanted out of it.

I ordered mine in June. It's been 15 weeks now. I was told 10-12 weeks. Seller will not answer messenger or his website. I will have to file a Paypal dispute to get my money back. Sucks because I already purchased and installed a new back up camera.
