Switch Box Applications?

Any instances of something like this in our 3rd gens?

As I start mounting aftermkt lights, later a transmission cooler fan, I sense that a 6 gang will be enough for what I want to achieve. Having put switches on knee bolsters before for other rides, I prefer the everything in the one box approach to the mess that I remember with later removal of the knee bolster...

Anyone use something like this? Curious which ones and where mounted...

I've been looking for a solution to replace the sunglasses holder. This doesn't look too bad, but I'm an "OEM look" kind of guy. FWIW.

Measure the sunglass holder location and compare to the dimensions of this box. :happy: Should be a fantastic fit there.

That said, I'm leaning toward under the driver's seat, working the rockers by touch. I'd have a legend of sorts where most put their switches on the lower left, something like:

1 = Wide Cornering
2 = Driving/Combo
3 = Spot
4 = Rock
5 = Rear
6 = ATF Fan

I've done this before with very good results. Plus, I have unused power there from the factory seats...

There's someone on Tacoma World that makes a 6 switch DIN for mounting under your radio. Would be a much cleaner option than mounting something off your dash.

Well, that's pretty sweet, and I see it's the same guy that made the SCII mount that I'm using!

I've gone double DIN, and really like it, so that won't be an option for me...

What I find nice about under the seat is that one can just open the door, roll up a chair and get busy. The box is removed from the bracket with the turn of two knobs. Wires can be run under the sill plate right to that location...

That's pretty slick Mike. I can see why some find that very appealing. For what's provided, the price seems reasonable too, IMO.

I decided to go with the switch box I linked to in the first post. Should work well for what I want to do. Location TBD, but I think under the driver's seat...

There's been some talk on here about them, but I don't think anyone has got one yet. I see one in my very near future though. Maybe next week, but I'll have to hide it from the wife.

LoL I don't have to hide the toys from my wife, just work part time jobs for the money for them HAHA

I think I'm going to do the Big 3 at the same time. Gotta try and find some plexiglass to make a holder for the parts (circuit breakers and the box for the switch panel).

when it's not for her Rover I have to hide it.
