Switch to amsoil?

Should I run amsoil with 101000 miles or just keep up with regular oil and change every 3000,I'm alittle afraid of oil leaks starting?

Did you do the Timing belt job yet? When I did mine I replaced valve cover gaskets at the same time.

Over 200k with no oil leaks.

An oil leak will not start if you switch to a synthetic but if you have a small existing leak it will get worse if you switch.

I use Amsoil only in my cars including my 4runner and not one single problem or leak thus far after years of using the stuff including our beater 98 ls400 that has 437k miles on it.

That is a total myth.
The only leaks you will have are ones that are already there.
Doesn't matter if you have 100-200-300-400,000 miles on it.

Thanks guys,just making sure,I think I have a very minor oil leak from the oil pan,I'm goin to re torque tonight to 9 ft lbs.
I haven't done t belt yet but I will,I will get everything changed that I can while it's opened up.

That's awesome!!! There was an LS400 at a dealership in Utah when I was living there that has 1.2 million miles on it. Those things are beasts. Sorry off topic, but I would recommend it! I am running it in both the engine and trans. Everything is running smooth at 245K.

Everything is oem and never opened up as we are the 2nd owners but the ls400 is a freak of nature as its common to get these cars over 1million miles but I also run it in every place that takes any type of oil ,engine,trans diff etc in my 4runner.
