Yeah, the OP can do what they choose, but my wife's Pontiac G8 GT has a "switchblade" key and I don't care for it. I took the "wife's key" when we bought it, which is a regular style, non-retracting key.
I do like the actual key design tho, it's one of those that no hardware store can copy - a safety key or whatever they call them. Any old Realtors on here may recall them back in the day when we had what were called "Multac" lock box keys. No ridges or hills, just a rectangular metal key with a recessed, winding "groove" down one side.

Of course that domain is in Australia - and the Pontiac G8 GT is an Austrailian car. Badged as a Pontiac, but is built by Holden (GM Austrailia), just like its 2 door predecessor, the Pontiac GTO. Nice car really, given its price point. The LS2 V8 in it has some grunt, and the RWD and 4 link rear end makes it corner nicely at VIR's club track days...lol It's much quicker than her 2007 Chevy Monte Carlo SS was - with its FWD and 5.3L V8.
