Switches in center console

Alright folks, I'm getting ready to pull the trigger on some lights.

Now, here's my question...

On my 95, I've got the rear window switch and two "coin holders" on the center console. Can I cut out those coin holders and put switches in? If I can, what kind of switches will snap it without further mods?

Thanks

Jim

I guess you could. Look how deep of a clearance underneath you would get and see if that's enough for the depth of your switches.
HOWEVER, why would you want switches there when that's where we're most likely to spill our drinks? In fact, I removed mine from the console and converted that to an interim cup holder.

The standard "Toyota" rectangular switches will fit in those coin-holder slots just fine, as will USB charging adaptors. Just realize there is no real power under the console, just relay coils that get switched to ground by the various existing switches and heater controls. You'll have to run your own power to the console.

The coin holders just pop out of the slots. You don't have to cut them out or do anything special.
