sylvania silverstar ultra lights?

i hear ya, the day i saw those wheels i fell in love haha but no i dont have them yet im hoping they will be here this week sometime. They said it was special order and that it would 5 to 6 days, i ordered them this last friday so hopefully by the end of the week, then saturday im planning on getting them mounted on some tires (of which i have no clue of what kind yet), im just crossing my fingers that they will fit without any rubbing haha but yeah! i will takes pics and post them as soon as i get it done.

Oh ok. I thought you already had them on. At $150 a piece they are in my price range, I think.

I'm pretty sure they will fit with no rubbing. I think other members have put 16" FJ rims on their 3rd Gens.

by the way how did you like the piaa bulbs? is it worth the money? im trying to limit my light housing turning all blue when my lights are off. I duno, i dont really like that but we'll see.

i liked the piaas, but for the price, go with the silver star ultras...

Got the Phillips lights at Oriley's Auto Parts. Said they were new. Can't find a link to them. I'm happy with them so far, though.

Thanks silver bullet i may have to get the silver stars. i'm just not sure i wanna cut my drl's to make them last longer.

ya i hope i ordered the right trd rims, i looked Around and it seems like As for the rims there are 2 part #'s for the black ones. plus im just waiting on that call from them asking for a vin # to an fj, which would suck, but ya hopefully it all pans out. ill prob post it on a new thread too see what others think.

If you didn't want to cut the wire I think you could add a switch or something so that they would work in the future.

i just capped both ends of the wire, but made sure that there is enough slack in case i ever need to reconnect them

its one wire you cut.... thats it

They are great

In my signature are the new lights but it was a cell phone pic so its not so great. Better ones tonight.

thanks for your advice. i may make a switch or just say the heck with it and cut it. Those lights look good! a lot better than the cheap factory yellowish lights. im leaning towrds those piaa ultra white? its the one that just has a blue tip, i duno i may just go with the SS ultras cause there easier to find. thanks again!

i dont know if i'm just crazy and have really bad eyes or something but the SS ultras are NOT the whitest light i have seen, they look more yellow to me.

Yeah, I would have to agree with you. They might be brighter but they look to much like stock halogens to me.

They definitely don't look like stock lights. I can't say how they compare to the PIAA's though.

Sorry about some of the quality of the pictures, My camera sucks. Also i apologize for the size of the pictures. I didnt have time to make them smaller.

Here are my SS ultras with my aftermarket Fogs on. They are fairly bright and the distance of the light is decently far.

Low Beams and AF fogs.

Next are the High Beams and AF fogs, Now the Back side of that fence if you can see it in the picture is Very far away and these still light it up.

Next is just a shot of the lows and the AF fogs on. I forgot to turn on my regular fog lights for this shot but they are there Just look at my signature for those.

Overall i am very pleased with these lights. If your on a budget and want to upgrade your lights i recommend these.

my driver side silverstar ultra low beam blew out after about 5 months. i though these were supposed to last a long time?

i went with Hella h4 xenon blue from advanced auto parts intead. it was like 3 dollars then ultras and the light looks the same to me.
