Symptoms of bad steering rack and/or bushings

Leaking lines and leaking rack are two very different fixes. Verify if both are actually bad. I find it hard to believe a line gave out at the same time as the rack seals.

Thanks for your reply. I think my mechanic is leaning towards the philosophy that when the labor costs are high to fix something, don't patch and just do the basics, replace the full components while you have access. How could I diagnose that it is indeed just leaking lines vs leaking rack? And is repairing leaking lines worth it if rack might need replacing in the near future, if the leaking lines have prematurely worn the rack, if that is a possibility?
