Do they have power plants? Yes

Do they have cell towers? Yes

Do they have major roads? Yes

Do they have banks? Yes

Do they have oil fields? Yes


ISIS has stated that one of their goals is to have a real government that functions at a local level with engagement from the local citizenry. This is what the US, France, Russia and allies should destroy - every semblance of a functioning country within Mosal and Raqqa. Everything that allows them to say to their citizens "we are a real government".

Look at the VICE video. They went into Syria last year and were given press tour by ISIS. They are the ONLY news organization to have gone inside ISIS and been given full access. The video is incredible. It shows this is not some have-@ss attempt at a country. ISIS is operating a fully functional government. It's citizens are supporting ISIS with taxes, loyalty, bodies for war and governmental cooperation.


You need to ask yourself .... are the citizens of Raqqa and Mosal to be treated any different than the citizens of Germany or Japan during World War II?

Thank you and I personally apologize for the personal attack. It just seems the same people do the same thing exponentially. And moreso when they get told to stop/or proven wrong they just continue moreso. Or request to have a thread shut.
As you stated above the thread shouldn't be closed/deleted due to the wealth of healthy discussion that has occurred and data presented along with opinions.

I have a question...from my brief readings, ISIS money comes from them selling oil, right? If the US (and Britain) can identify Jihad John based on his eyes, veins on his arms, and tone, THEN why is it that we cannot find out WHO is buying the ISIS oil and block them?? No oil sale = no money for ISIS to recruit.

Or are we possibly linked to those oil sales? :gossip:

Anyone who has read anything about this conflict knows that the so called Syrian opposition is at best in a truce with ISIS and at worst giving them US and Saudi arms. A no fly zone would prevent the Russians and Syrians from bombing ISIS.

Again, dirty politics.

Let me ask you this - if you knew a %100 the gas you are filling up is from ISIS transactions, would you not drive? How would you get to work, to feed your family?

My point is - it's all tied together and it's all one messed up situation.

against what database will they be vetted?

unless they have already been caught committing a crime in the US, they are going to come back clean.
and where will they be housing all these people for the days/weeks required to properly check them?

this is a feel good measure, that wont actually do anything.

I hear Canada is nice this time of year. Lots of open space. Mountainous. Lush forestry. Not heavily populated. Lots of wildlife. And the air is turning so nice and crisp right now.

And one would hope our "leaders" (and I use that term in the loosest sense possible) would not allow them to come over here until after the check. But we all know that won't happen because that would imply that people actually follow laws when they are illegally trying to enter.
