In WW ll the U.S.A. Went and rounded up all the Japanese and put them in concentration camps.

my girls grandparents were in one of those Internment camps in Oregon.

but, those were people that were here prior. not exactly the same situation we are talking about now.

Simple question. Do you leave your personal data open and available for anyone to come in and look at or do you lock it up as tight as possible to keep it secured?

Look, 200 years ago when America was founded they didn't have ISIS or Al Qaeda or computer hackers or anything like we do today. I'm all for freedom but we need to get with the times and quit being such an open door to everyone.

I'm wondering if as the President says it is a truly "dark turn against our American soul" to be very selective for security concerns when deciding to let in refugees from countries the US is at war with .... OR is it logical to scrutinize them and even from a policy standpoint, something that historically fits our traditions?

I hear Canada is nice this time of year. Lots of open space. Mountainous. Lush forestry. Not heavily populated. Lots of wildlife. And the air is turning so nice and crisp right now.

And one would hope our "leaders" (and I use that term in the loosest sense possible) would not allow them to come over here until after the check. But we all know that won't happen because that would imply that people actually follow laws when they are illegally trying to enter.

Don't know about that specifically, but I seem to remember some other groups of Shi'ites being batshit loco, too. So, I don't think the crazy is limited to one sect or the other.

There have been many stories covering this crisis, but one struck a nerve with me. There was a Syrian boy found dead on a Turkish beach, washed up after drowning:

No one should have to risk their family's life like that and watch their kids drown.

There are a lot of keyboard heroes who type up cute scenarios on their facebook page which are completely disconnected from reality.


Is the conflict in Syria real? Yes.
Do the displaced refugees need aid? Yes.
Should the American Government provide that aid? Probably not.
Should compassionate Americans personally provide that aid? Yes.
Are there multiple pools of refugees coming out of Syria? Yes.
Should we accept refugees fleeing religious persecution (Shia Muslims, Christians, etc..)? I'd lean towards saying yes.
Should we accept ISIS fighters now claiming to be refugees fleeing the battlefield because Russia showed up and is kicking their you know what? No.


It is way more complicated than just loving people and saying everyone else should be more accepting.
