Now I have to vote. I think I'll go into the voting booth and vote for the guy with the most Muslim-sounding name for sh!ts and giggles. On the other hand, if a candidate like Trump or Carson wins, we can just blame Obama if it ends up creating an even larger mess. If a candidate like Hillary or Sanders wins and creates a bigger mess, we can blame them AND Obama. Sounds fair, right?

I will vote but only to try to keep any shred of logic in politics, which is almost a lost cause.

As far as voting for a candidate that will help me or my family and friends? Ha. I am a 53 year old male with a good job. I pay all taxes, do not accept any government assistance or am in any social handout programs. In addition to the government, I also am in good health and don't have any tickets or accidents for my vehicles and have never filed a homeowner's claim. I am the most discriminated person alive as I get no break from nowhere. I don't qualify for anything. Basically I am the payer of taxes and insurance that support many others who have not been as lucky as me. I don't really care as I feel it is my duty to help others. With that said, whoever wins the White House, Democrat or Republican, liberal or conservative, sane or bat sh!t crazy will treat me and others like me exactly the same. They will expect me to give even more... and more. This is a short term plan at best and a terrible model for the future. People like me are getting older and, based on my observations of the youth today, our ranks are slowly dwindling and not being replaced at the same rate by youngsters. Pretty soon the people like me (job, tax and insurance payer, take care of themselves instead of relying some agency to take care of them) will fall to dangerous levels and then where will the money come from? Corporations? Ha. But that is someone else's problem. Right?

Yup. I'm in that bracket now. I don't need help from the government, but all I see is it expecting me to pay more and more as time goes on.

You rant seems to have an undertone of it's "the takers" bankrupting our country, financially and perhaps morally; yet it leaves out any notion of the real problem, corporate welfare. Those are the "welfare queens" we should be worried about, not the single mother trying to survive.

Now quick, someone hurl out "liberal" or "bleeding heart."

Not so much a rant as a note of despair. As I have gotten older cynicism has replaced optimism when thinking of politics. As far as "corporate welfare" I can't seem to remember when corporations made their own rules instead of following the laws as written by politicians from both sides. The only thing I can say to that is private industry is much smarter than government. If we want to stop corporate welfare then the laws have to be re written and tightened up. In order to do that we need to elect intelligent and logical people to fix it, and there is where the problem lies and the source of my previous post. Here's the gist:

Groups of people make up every single part of society from religion to politics and everything in between. This forum would not exist without a group of people for example. The group of people currently running corporations are much smarter than the group of people running the country (both parties) and have been for quite some time. That needs to be fixed. In the meantime the group of people (like me) that pay full taxes are dwindling while the group of people SPENDING the taxes are increasing. That my friend is the gist of it.

I think I get what you're saying and it's only natural to be a cynic or feel despair these days, I think we should just be careful about making excuses as to why.

I would object that corporations don't make their own rules though. Since the SCOTUS ruled corporates are magically people, they can give unlimited donations/bribes to politicians to buy the rules they want.

How we stop that...I doubt we can.

Hence the despair. The brightest and best run corporations. The ones who can't become politicans.

From what I've read through other sources, and it's not specified anywhere, but what if that doctor is a Muslim? Are you saying that Muslims can go to jail for calling other Muslims orcs? A pretty silly Turkish law if you ask me. Please share more articles though, it's interesting to see what a guy that believes Obama is a Muslim reads.

Heard today ISIS spends 1 million a month just for ammunition (meant they shoot a lot but hit a little).
Quite a lot of oil to sell they have - 50k barrels a month, but nothing compared to US oil production - 120k barels a day.
