Certainly details on the find and adventure back as well as pictures, which I'm certain will be forthcoming with this much excitement and anticipation.

What state you getting the truck from? You found it through craigslist?

Actually, I'm buying from another member on here, and flying up to Jersey to pick him up (all my vehicles are him's)

I'm sure if the actual owner wants to chime in he can. But I am definitely going to chronicle my journey up and the trip back. Now I'm going to have to think of a name for the new ride in the meantime....

then again I still haven't came up with a name for my tundra. Normally I just call it the truck. Its my haulin' rig for my horse.

Trip got postponed by 10 days or so. I'll be flying up this coming saturday. The wait is killing me!!:dammit::plane:

Congrats Kristen! Just be sure to check the frame really well (or take it somewhere where it can go on a lift to inspect it) being from NJ as these are notorious for bad rusting issues, especially in places where salt is used, NJ definitely being one of them. These are awesome trucks, but that rust isssue is a very real thing.

i feel your pain. i just got my 4r a week or so ago. i bought the truck - paid for 80% of it - enough for previous owner to pay off loan. he paid off the loan and the banks couldnt find the title. so i had to wait another 3 weeks for a new title reprint from DMV instead of me having the truck. thankfully i got it, registered, inspected and can finally say shes mine though.

good luck with yours.

The owner has been awesome about sending me good pics of the undercarriage and everything else but when I get up there I'm going to get on a creeper and crawl around extra good.

I'm buying it from a gentleman on the forum here, and his truck has been posted in the 4 sale forum.

Oh good. I didn’t realize it was someone from here. That’s great to hear there’s been good communication and pics too. Definitely increases your chances of getting a decent one. Nothing worse than traveling a long way only to find out you have a Swiss cheese frame! Anyway, I just mentioned it in case for some reason you weren’t aware of this issue. I wasn’t when I first started on my quest to find one.

I'm home safe and sound with "Red". Best name I can think of for him at the moment.

Many thanks to DoorDing for holding onto him for me the last couple of months and maintaining him religiously.

He (red) and I made the trek back from NJ to TN Saturday and Sunday morning. I stopped in Bristol Saturday night to crash because I was whooped.

Red runs beautifully and I had the tunes cranked most of the way. No issues. No overheating.

Indeed! There are a few little things here and there I want to do (fix door squeaks, etc...) but overall he's perfect.

I already ordered an emblem off ebay this morning for the front, while waiting for my set of devil horns. They are pre-ordered and paid for in the upcoming October batch.
