"T40R" 5th Gen Trail SAS on 40's!!

Hello, My name is Jason Sampson from RSG Offroad in Lakewood, Colorado. I want to share a project that I thought you guys might find interesting... It's called the T40R.<br><br>
The T40R is a 2016 Trail Premium that has 6,000 miles on it. For about a year we've been doing research on how to do a solid axle swap, and retain the factory ABS and electronics.<br><br>
This will be my daily driver and we will certainly show it off at a few events later this year like FJ Summit, Cruise Moab, Set Them Free, All-4-Fun, etc.. <br><br>

Justin Mildenberger, former technician and fabricator of All-Pro Off-Road, has joined the RSG team. He is the lead tech of this project. <br><br>Justin has quite the resume when it comes to building Toyotas and if I had to guess this one will end up being extremely impressive.

I'm new to the forum and don't have much skill in post's but here goes...

<br><br>We are working on relocating the oil filter housing, moving the A/C Condensor up and using a different size aluminum radiator, then we can raise the lower radiator support up 3 or 4"<br><br>

I have read through some good builds here and seen IFS put to it's limits. THIS is what a handful of us have been waiting to see. Look forward to watching this build progress. Do NOT leave out any details except the costs, otherwise you sir, are a dream crusher!

The axles look like the diamond axles 9" set. Is that what you're using? Also what are the outers? Are they retaining the Toyota unit bearings? I think it's awesome that you're retaining all the oem functionality of the crawl control and such. What gearing do you plan to use?

Keep in mind, this is being done by a professional shop (RSG OffRoad in Colorado), and the main person working on it formerly worked for All-Pro Offroad before making a move from Montana to CO...from what I've been told. So...there's a lot of knowledge of Toyotas at RSG and the fabrication and welding are being done with very capable hands. They have a great team over there!
