Welcome to T4R.ORG! Good luck on you search. Surely you will be able to find something out there

You may be able to find a 96-97 in that price range. Welcome to the board and good luck with your search. Smart vehicle to start off with :D

Welcome son! Keeping cool out there? For 3k ur best bet is probably a 1st gen. Try finding an 85-89 w the 22re. These motors are bulletproof! Don't be afraid of something w +/-200k miles. If it was moderately taken care of ur good to go. 85s are the most collectible because they're the last year for the solid front axle and the first year for the 22re which is fuel injected. You're lucky ur located near some of the best 4x trails in socal. BigBear/GreenValley is like a 1/2 hour from u! Good luck!

Welcome to the forum, and good luck on the search for your Runner! It will find you. =) I got a Dodge Neon when I was 15 1/2 =p, I wanted an suv (a jeep at the time) but my parents had the money and it was their say so. My stepdad however had an '89 runner and I loved that thing, learned how to drive in it, along with my neon. Have fun shopping, and keep us updated!

Already messaged you this link, but I'll post it here too. Found this Runner nearby within your price range, it looks to be in pretty darn good condition. Love how it looks too. =)

cars.com , vehix.com , carmax.com , those are the ones I know of off the top of my head

:-)

One other important note. Avoid the 3.0! 96 and newer have the 3.4 which is a great engine. Also the 84 thru 89 are convertible. My 17yr old son likes taking the top off my 88. (he thinks he's getting it, i tell him no way!, but he will when he graduates).
