Actually it is on the other side of the park, more isolated. A place called Cataloochee, off of Hwy 276 near Maggie Valley, North Carolina. Cades Cove is a great place though, 3 weeks ago we camped there and saw 2 bears and many deer on the Cades Cove Loop.ToyotaDoodz said:
No I didn't put a sticker on the Elk, that would of been cool, I am amazed on how close they were. I was expecting to see the Elk 300 yards away with binoculars. As you can see on one picture, each Elk is tagged, except for the babies, which we also saw. We saw 26 Elk that day.:awais:

Cool elk shots. 
My recent wildlife encounters are as follows:
Horseshoe Lake above the city of Mammoth Lakes we saw a California Black bear; he was strolling along across a two lane narrow road from where we were standing (about 25 feet away!). Later, my wife saw another bear after he had just taken a fish from a fisherman's line!
In Yosemite Valley, we saw several deer - one of which I could have reached out and touched. He was munching the grass outside one of the lodge hotel rooms at Yosemite Lodge.
In Wyoming, outside of the city of Casper there are deer that will literally eat out of your hand. They are so bold as to stick their heads into your car door (with the window down) and look for food! I think they've gotten used to free food and the handouts aren't necessarily a good thing for the welfare of the deer.
