the head unit sucks

The cheapest cell phone or tablet works better and looks nicer than the head unit. The Toyota enview or whatever they call their software, is a total piece of crap. The only thing that a half way decent phone/tablet can't do is play CDs. It beats the head unit in every other aspect hands down. I wish they just stayed with building cars.

The only issue I have had is the double sided tape - when it gets warm it loses it's adhesion. I ended up using Gorilla Glue to attach the 'L' brackets and have not had a problem since.

Good to know! I'll be swinging by home depot for the L brackets. Can't wait to use my tablet instead of my oem radio.

Looks good. Seems to sit very flush. Apparently this is the way to go without drilling holes into the dash!

I drilled two holes on each side of the top of the head unit and installed a flat clear acrylic plate. This way I can put my GPS suction base on it and it looks pretty cool. My daughter says it is all fancy looking like it comes with the car.

I have a question for you if you see this: I was trying to remove the head unit face. The silver face plate or fascia. The reason is I want to paint it black. I've already painted the center storage base and two side bar and they look really nice in black. Now I am obsessed with the silver radio face.

I tried to remove it and couldn't find an easy way to do it. There are a few tabs on the edge of the plate that hold the "brain" and also some screws. I removed 4 screws and the bottom of the face plate still won't let go. I couldn't detach the face from the body. Do you recall any trick on how to do this? Appreciate your help!
