Tackled the Rubicon Today!

I was camping up in Tahoe at Sugar Pine Point SP and decided to check out the Rubicon trailhead which is just a few miles from the park. Gave a good test to my skills and the mods I have made to the truck!

The final photo is where I turned back. With more time and an adult spotter I might I might have tackled this section. The lookout point was less than a mile away! I'll be back!

It is so beautiful up in the Sierras! If there was a Starbucks and a pizza place on the Rubicon Trail I would never! Common! I need my coffee! And pizza and beer wouldn't hurt either!

Oh and a crapper because the freaky tree huggers want'a shut the trail down because they are finding to much unburied poop and toilet paper along the trail. Just bury your shit people!

Good to see another EDH person, Im in Cameron Park. But close enough. I work in EDH, surprised I haven't see you driving around.

Nice!!
the 'Con is an amazing trail in a beautiful forest.
that lil section is followed by the Gatekeeper, where the trail starts to get REAL :)

My neighbor just returned from a trip up there and couldn't say enough about how amazing it was. Did you have any issues running it with the 4runner - clearance or otherwise?

Nice to know theres someone else with a 4th gen in the Sacramento area who might do the Con. I'm excited to do that trail as well!

I work in Roseville so I'm usually headed in the direction in the truck. I'm sure we'll cross paths sooner or later!

No issues! The section I did doesn't have any major obstacles on it. The 4Runner more than held it own with a 3" lift and 33" tires. I have no doubt it is much more capable than my current wheeling skills.

That is awesome, I would like to try that. But I feel my stock daily driver 4runner would get banged up and broken.
