Tacoma/4Runner Header Compatibility

I'm sure this has come up a thousand times, but does anybody know if the headers on the following link will fit an 04 1GR-FE 4Runner engine??

I have called jba before and they sais it does not fit.

Anybody have any clue as to WHY? My dad has an 05 Tacoma and I broke out the tape measure with both hoods popped. I didn't find a single reason(s) why they're not interchangeable (I measured multiple bolt distances and overall length). I'm thinkin about giving it a shot...if nothing else, they'll be on Ebay shortly after my purchase.

Being Shipped...

Well, I took the plunge. I ordered JBA's 05 Taco headers for my 04 4Runner...(on 9-18-07). Should be here 9-20/21.

FYI, I parked my 4Runner beside my dad's 05 Taco and compared headers. I even broke out a tape measure and everything measured up. If they do not fit, it will definitely be something minor...hopefully.

I'll certainly update this and/or start a new thread if they actually work. If not, they'll be up for sale on the Tacoma forum, haha...

I'm also interested too, keep us posted with the result. I've called JBA before about the fitment issue between the Tacoma/FJ versus the 4R and they said it wouldn't fit the 4R. I told the JBA rep that I'm sure there's a bunch of us that would be interested if they developed one for the 4R. The rep was pretty cold and said that he can guarantee that JBA has no interest in making one for the 4R. As you mentioned before, the headers (taco vs 4R) might be identical, but JBA just don't want to market it for the 4R. Either way, let us know how it turns out. Thanx
