Tacoma frame recall but no 4runner?

Just wondering why the Tacoma frames have a serious rust issue to the point of the entire frame assembly being recalled, whereas the 4Runner frames were not recalled? What’s the difference other than geometry? Is one coated better from the factory?

I didn't know 5th-gens had issues with frame rot

Tacomas,Tundras,Sequoias had frames manufactured by Dana Holding Corp. of Maumee, Ohio. These are the frames Toyota is replacing.

4Runner frames on the other hand were manufactured in Japan like the rest of the vehicle.

the 2016 4runner has some rust on welds .. not much but I do a complete inspection every oil change.. I also apply some cold galv paint on any rust spots then apply an oil based black paint.. going on a couple of years, looks good ..

4runner is Japan made ... perhaps better steel ,,, perhaps ...
