tacoma suspension swap and lift install.....lots of pix!

So have had my 2004 4runner sport v6 for just over a month now. it had xreas and with 105k it wasnt a very smooth ride over minor bumps
heres a pic the day i brought it home.

A few days later I installed new nitto terra grapplers 275 70 17

While on vacation in vegas i found a steal of a deal on 2014 tacoma trd 4x4 suspension on craigslist and a lift kit.

The lift is front daystar 2.5 inch kit
the rear lift is Ready lift rear kit which was about 2 inches

The tacoma front will springs/ struts bolt right in. the rear shocks need to get new bushings
instead of paying someone I bought a press so if anyone in chicago does this i will press the bushings for you

on to the install..... my truck fought it every step of the way due to every bolt and nut being rusty. took about5-6 hours all around with a few buddies.
i bet we could do it in half the time now that everythign is free and we know the little tricks to fitting everything in.

I got about 4 inches total in front and 2 in the rear. I think the stance is great! gonna need some 285's for tires now lol

overall it rides great, I still need to get an alignment but think im going to get some new tie rod ends before i do.

the 4runner rear shock mount is much larger than the tacoma mounts

energy bushing part number 9.8108

with 4 inches in the front of lift, I would be nervous about your UCA and cv angles. Just wondering if you have inspected those lately and to see how stressed they are ?

Front drivers side is at 37 7/8
Rear drivers side is at 38 1/3


As for the angles how do I check that? I do have the diff drop kit I can install as well if need be

Sorry they are 265 not 275... Yes at full crank they did before the lift a bit

Yea...i gained about 3/8-1/2" after the tires

I've only had the tires since Friday. The lift has been on since November. I haven't had any issues with either. My alignment is good, CV angles are good. I did have to put new clamps on my CV boots, and I think I'm gonna have to do some trimming on my rear fenders since putting the bigger tires on, but other than that, everything is great with it! My fiance always comments on how much better is rides than her MINI!

Hey guys. I am about to acquire a set of 2014 taco coil trd overs and rear struts(1,000 miles). I have on 07 sport 4x4 with xreas and newish 265/65r17. Bout to scrap the xreas and throw the taco set up on it. I would like to give it a decent lift and the truck to sit level. I don't do much wheel(yet). But would like to go a few times a year or more. Any recommendations on a lift set up to help achieve this with a taco suspension. I also have a budget boost leveling kit. What would that do with the front of the taco's coil overs? I know i have to get some rear springs, any recommendations? Thanks gentlemen.
