Tacoma Texas Edition Wheels

I got my new wheels put on today! I am really happy with the look. I need some beefier tires but I've got to wear through these before I start shopping for a new set.



These are from the Texas Edition Tacoma. Tires are 265/70/17. Any tire recommendations would be appreciated.

Nice looking wheels, I remember seeing a texas taco a few weeks ago. I recommend cooper st maxx, 255/80/17 :becky:
But they are just about 33s, and I needed to run spacers

How much room do you have before you're hitting the upper control arm? I just picked up a set of these wheels and am thinking about going with 275 70 17s.

I ran 285/70/17 on my 99.

I just went and took a look, I would guess there is about a little over an inch of distance from the upper control arm.

Wow thanks for checking so quickly! I'm assuming you're running 265 70 17s. At .4" wider for a 275 tire I think they should probably fit fine, but I suppose it really depends on the tire itself. I'd like to go 285 but I think there'd be some rubbing with this offset.

I was pretty excited I took one out of the box and mounted it up in the dark. Even with the truck full of crappy road salt just to get an idea of how it would look. I'll get some more pictures when I get the tires mounted.

Ha! You're pretty eager to get those on!

They are cool looking wheels. I've had several styles of OEM Toyota wheels on my 4Runner, but these are my absolute favorite.

I've had my 285/75/16 KO2's for about a week and I then. Much smoother and quieter then my old KM2's

Bored waiting for my tires I did a little comparison between my TX Editions and my Tundra \ Sequoia wheels. I know the Tundra wheels don't look too good right now as I just had them bead blasted. So I hope this info helps someone out.

Each wheel comes with center cap, allen wrench, stainless steel allen screws, and lug nuts. Mine came with 2 allen wrenches and 4 screws per wheel (additional not pictured).

Toyota didn't offer wheel locks, but Gorilla 68631N locks work perfectly.

I would think this is this way because of a strength test for the wheel. The spokes aren't as meaty as the stock tri-spoke or Tundra wheels. Bigger tires exert more torque on the wheel. Getting someone to mount a 33" tire will probably be another issue.

Got them mounted. There is mild rubbing on the plastic parts when turning pretty tight in the front wheel well and if you crank all the way the tires will hit the frame. Oh well, lift time. I'll try to get more pics when I'm not using my phone.
