Tacoma whip antenna for Tquestions

Ordered up the assembly for the tacoma whip antenna to replace the broken auto one on my 99 4runner... Part number 86300-35090 was 'supposed' to include the whip according to some forum info but mine came without it... Is that accurate/true that it is not included anymore/ever?

If not, I think I want to go with a stubby. Anyone with suggestions for a short 6"ish type that will screw onto the tacoma base that I will now be installing?

Saw one on Amazon, looked good but not sure what brand it is.. Pics attached.

It used to come with a chrome one years back. Now you order seperate. I just ordered a black one on top of that.

I actually just ordered the parts yesterday, and yet I believe they don't the chrome part anymore. I ordered the black Tacoma one.

still trying to decide if I want to try to do it myself or just let my mechanic handle it. Lol

I did this ~8 months ago and no whip included. Can't help with the shorty.. sorry

Mine didnt come with one, just got a cheap short one at autoparts store, mine works fine.

As far as I know the whip and antenna base are separate part numbers, of course because you wouldn't want to have to buy the entire thing if your whip got damaged. Should be a lot more info on aftermarket whips on Tacoma sites.
