I've seen posts referring to "tagging" a member by putting @ in front of their name. What is exactly is this and what does it do??

It's kinda like twitter (it will send you a Mention). So say if you wanted to tag me in another post so I could read it, that's one way. Useful when you see something or want to get a group together, tag a bunch. Look at the general area for overland (oregon/washington area). Rock Rat tagged everyone he thought would be interested.
