Tail gate interior panel removal

I need to push a dent out of my tail gate, but can't seem to get the interior panel off. Any ideas?

It’s been a while since I took mine off, but if I recall there is only 1 screw that holds the handle strap on. Once you remove that you just pop out 11 - 12 panel clips. Start at the bottom and work your way around. Also, if you need to disconnect the computer unit, you will need to normalize your system after you reconnect it.

I had mine off yesterday to replace the tailgate switch (melted rubber). DRC is exactly correct, one bolt (10mm socket) on the strap and then pry it loose. Once it's loose slide it 'up' (forward as you look up at it) and inch or so and it comes right off. The edge of the trim at the bottom of the window is held on by a lip...

It's very easy, I found a number of diy guides on here with diagrams, but it's just the 1 bolt that holds the strap, and then prying the panel loose

I have one of these Upholstery clip tools for popping the clips without destroying them, $10 at AutoZone, well worth it.

everyone is right on this one. it's one bolt holding the strap to the door, then pop off the panel.
I put carpet on mine last time I took it off just to get some added protection.
