Tail Gate

Hey,

One side of my tail gate doesn't LOCK when I shut it. It's worn out.

My problem is I can't roll down the window without pushing the gate into the body.

Does anyone know how to "override" the safety feature on the tail gate???

I'd fix the latch first, if the other side stops working or comes loose while driving, you may end up with a broken window...

The latch is a solid pressed unit. I don't want to bust it open and bugger it up.

Should I give it a go and risk it?

Most of the time when the latch goes bad, it's easily fixable, often one of the cables came off the handle.

You can open the inside cover for the tailgate and unplugg the wire harness going to the side that's not latching. This will bypass it. Obviously fixing the latch would be the better option, but this will work until then.
